  • PTSA Reflections Winners

    “West Middle School PTSA is excited to announce the top finishers in this year’s “Reflections” Arts Contest. The following students will have their entries advance to judging by the Missouri PTA: In the Literature category, Grace Gomez-Palacio, Elizabeth Henderson, and Charles McGrath; in Music Composition, Ethan Jones and Danny Saab; in Photography, Jason Stephen and Christina Brinley; and in Visual Arts, Anna Waters, Adeline Kraus, and Ben Stephen. Each student received a gift card to Barnes & Noble, along with being recognized during the WMS Fine Arts Assembly. The works of those students will compete on the state level, with a chance to advance to the National PTA’s contest. Special thanks to all the students who participated, as well as to Mrs. Lisa Innis for serving as the in-school program coordinator, along with Accent Press for providing printing services.” Thank you!   • Quiz Bowl

    Congratulations to the West Middle School Quiz Bowl teams! Our teams competed in the Tuscumbia Fall Academic Tournament on Saturday, Nov. 5th winning second place out of 18 teams in the 7th/8th grade division, and third place out of 16 teams in the 6th grade division. The second place team members were: Ben Cohen, Ben Edidin, Evan Loehr, and Danny Saab. The third place team members were: Julian Cheek, Luc Cheek, Levin Garson and Judah Robbins. We also had some individual winners! Tied for 6th place for most questions answered in the 6th grade division out of 64 participants were Ben Dickerson and Owen Kington. In the 7th/8th grade division out of 72 participants, Evan Loehr placed 7th, and Ben Cohen placed 4th. Way to go West teams!!

  • Parents of Athletes:

    Columbia Public Schools has committed to providing positive coaching training for our MSHSAA coaches (high school and middle schools). The training was provided by the Missouri Institute for Positive Coaching; a highly respected program designed by Dr. Rick Mc Guire UMC Track and Field head coach. With our commitment, we have included positive expectations for parents /guardians.
