Our school principal is Dr. Jill Dunlap-Brown. Dr.Brown has served 14 years as an educator. She student taught at Fairview Elementary and completed the MU Fellowship year in Jefferson City, where she taught 2ndand 3rdgrades. She has worked as a literacy coach with the Regional Professional
Development Center (RPDC), where she spent countless hours in classrooms with teachers across the state supporting literacy and intervention. During her work with the RPDC, she developed a five-year relationship with South Callaway, who invited her to serve as principal. Earlier this year she became a principal in CPS and now she will be fulfilling that role at Russell. We want to extend a warm welcome to Dr. Dunlap- Brown as we look forward to a new school year.
Our assistant principal is Mrs. Amanda Ruyle. Mrs. Ruyle is a graduate of Columbia Public Schools and the University of Missouri. She is a graduate in early childhood and elementary education, she was a fellow and received her masters in Curriculum and Instruction. She continued her education and received an Educational Specialist degree in Administration in 2010. Before becoming our Assistant Principal, Mrs. Ruyle was a third grade teacher and a kindergarten teacher in Columbia Public Schools.

The secretary to the principal is Mary Lamberson. She has been associated with Russell since 1984 when her own children attended our school. Ms. Lamberson had a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Nebraska, however, she is now a confirmed Tiger. She is beginning her 17th year in her role as secretary to the principal and all round Russell Raven.
